Let's go back to the beginning. At least, the beginning as I remember it. My older sister had a subscription to Jet magazine as a young teen, but my mother would intercept it in the mail and remove all of the bad images and articles. From that act alone, I knew there was something about magazines, some controlling factor, that I should beware of, that thing that leads many into temptation, like that one eyed devil, the television. It wasn't all bad in those days, as most models were fully clothed and some even donned stockings to cover bare legs. Imagine that! The bad stuff was relegated to the back of the magazine and you had to be hell bent on getting into mischief if you spent much time on those dark pages. As time progressed, the bad stuff moved from the back and filled magazines from cover to cover. Skinny women shed their clothing. Big women screamed that it wasn't fair and wanted in on the fun too. As if that wasn't enough, people began to consult those magazines for information on their bedroom affairs, looking for 100 ways to please their lovers and 200 ways to please someone else's. There you have it. the one-eye devil in book form controlling what you wear, what you eat, drink, what you spend, who you sleep with, and promoting most every abominable sin known to man! All of this in a fashion magazine!
When we finally realized that those books featuring the same few celebrities issue after issue, actually had issues, there was a mad rush for many to create their own mini style publications but with the same poses, same clothing, same hair, same make up as ole "one-eye". So, are fashion blogs really dying? Probably so if content creators are void of originality and mimicking every move of fashion magazines. It's time to breath new life into your fashion blogs and that takes doing something new with your life that doesn't deserve a back corner space of a 1975 magazine! Either take a turn for the better or dig a plot next to high fashion!
